Have you discovered La Paz on the southern Baja?

Like so many retirees, a few years ago, we began looking for a warm weather destination where we could build a a vacation home to spend the winter months, and eventually our search took us to La Paz as we were looking for a destination less touristy than the better known resort towns. If you haven't discovered it yet, it is about 90 miles north of Cabo and the southern tip of the Baja. It is a city of just over 200,000 and is the capital of the southern Baja, with nonstop flights from the U.S. While La Paz has tourism, it is not a major part of the economy so far, however it is beginning to increase. There are some good sized tourist developments underway, and the city's first golf course was opened last year, with a second to open by the end of this year. It is a top destination for weather, beaches, fishing, diving, snorkling, boating, windsurfing, hiking, exploring, and more.
